Mountain Bike Tour - Kannaviou Loop The Paphos Forest

• Ascend via Kannaviou Loop into the forest
• Lunch break at the forest station of Stavros tis Psokas
• Descend through windy forest trails running along the river back to our starting point.
  

We commence our 58km 5 hour ride from Kannaviou Village which is located on the edge of the Paphos Forest. The forest consists of a large area of shaded pine forest.

Kannaviou Loop brings with it a ascent through the pine forest along a rarely used forest trail with stunning mountain views and deep valleys, climbing from 370m up to 1100m.

After our lunch break at the forest station of Stavros tis Psokas we commence our descent through windy forest trails running along the river and back to the starting point.

This tour is best suited for the experience rider with a good level of fitness.

• Helmet especially selected for its lightweight, comfortable fit and ventilation which helps channel in cool air and draw out heat — perfect on those long grinder climbs, and which has the latest Helmet MIPS technology.

• Hydration pack with minimum 2 litre fluid capacity and additional pockets for essentials (snacks, phone, camera, suncream)
• Energy bars and Electrolytes (electrolyte tablets or powder drinks supplement)
• Several cycling shorts with a quality chamois (padding)

• Lightweight waterproof/windproof top (winter months)
• Lightweight waterproof jacket (winter months)
• Sunglasses / eye protection
• Sunscreen (30-50 SPF)
• Insect repellent (summer months)
• Gloves
• Cleated shoes and pedals (if you prefer to use your own)
• Swimsuit & towel (Summer Season)

Travel insurance is essential, with additional cover for Mountain Biking.

We use Whyte T130-SX bikes. We have invested in Whyte highly rated T130 Trail Bike range, which we have tested throughout the most demanding trails in the Akamas Peninsula and Troodos Mountains, and have found that the T130 SX has preformed exceptionally well on the most technical trails, which is all down to Whyte's outstanding frame geometry and design.

We offer support vehicles to cover any eventuality.

If it is your preference, you might like to bring your own pedals and saddle. However, please note that you are responsible for your own equipment, and for removing your saddle/pedals at the end of the trip. We cannot guarantee the return of any bike parts left behind.

Wearing of cycle helmets is mandatory.

We select a bike size that suits you best, do a bike setup to suit your weight, height and your riding style, familiarise you with the bike controls and a safety briefing.

Cycling of all kinds has its dangers and accidents can happen from time to time. Please ensure that you are properly prepared for the riding you are going to undertake, with a good level of fitness and off road cross-county riding experience is essential. Riding with confidence on hard pack loose gravel with down hill technical sections (our tours are not for the novice rider, and over 18 only)
