Mountain Bike Tour - Akamas Coastline Easy

• Start from of Agios Georgios
• Head West towards Toxeftra Beach and stop at Lara Beach (turtle nesting grounds)
• Continue along the sandy trail through the Juniper Forest to Lara Bay Turtle Sanctuary
• We re-join the main trail to our next stop at view point over looking the rugged coastline - photo stop
• Return along the coastal trail back to the start point

An easy to moderate 3 hour ride for a distance of approximately 25km. Great for beginners with some riding experience and a good level of fitness.

The starting point is from Agios Georgios we head West towards Toxeftra Beach were the Green and Loggerhead Turtles nest along this 2 km stretch of sandy beach during May - June time....we arrive at our first stop at Lara Bay for photos.

We continue along the sandy trail through the Juniper Forest to our next point of interest, Lara Bay Turtle Sanctuary, which is good opportunity to see the work done by the volunteers to protect the nest sites for the endangered Green and Loggerhead Turtles.

We re-join the main trail to our next stop at view point over looking the rugged coastline....we take photo stop before returning along the coastal trail back to the start point.

Travel insurance is essential, with additional cover for Mountain Biking.

We use Whyte T130-SX bikes. We have invested in Whyte highly rated T130 Trail Bike range, which we have tested throughout the most demanding trails in the Akamas Peninsula, and have found the T130 SX to preformed exceptionally well on the most technical trails, which is all down to Whyte outstanding frame geometry and design.

The Akamas Peninsula is a wild and rugged region, which is why we offer support vehicles to cover any eventuality.

If it is your preference, you might like to bring your own pedals and saddle. However, please note that you are responsible for your own equipment, and for removing your saddle/pedals at the end of the trip. We cannot guarantee the return of any bike parts left behind.

Wearing of cycle helmets is mandatory.

We select a bike size that suits you best, do a bike setup to suit your weight, height and your riding style, familiarise you with the bike controls and a safety briefing.

• Present ticket at the departure point
• Pay outstanding balance for trip at departure point
• The tour may be cancelled for free until 24 hours before the date of tour, if cancelled after that or in case of no show, the whole amount of the deposit will be charged.

Cycling of all kinds has its dangers and accidents can happen from time to time. Please ensure that you are properly prepared for the riding you are going to undertake, with a good level of fitness and off road cross-county riding experience is essential. Riding with confidence on hard pack loose gravel with down hill technical sections (our tours are not for the novice rider, and over 18 only)
